About one hundred residents of Sango in Ibadan have benefited from a free medical screening organized by Diabetes Association of Nigeria.

The screening which was in collaboration with the university college hospital, U.C.H covered test of blood glucose, blood pressure, height and body weight.

Addressing the beneficiaries, President, of the association, Chief Emmanuel Adeyinka implored Nigerians living with diabetes to stick to their drug regiment and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

In a remark, a professor of medicine at the college of medicine university of Ibadan, Adesoji Fasanmade said maintaining normal blood glucose level remained the only preventive measure of the disease.

Some of the beneficiaries described the exercise as timely in view of the increasing cases of diabetes in Africa.

The event which featured rally, health talks and body exercise had as its theme “diabetes and the family”.
