The Osun State House of Assembly is set to unveil maintenance gangs that would monitor rural roads across the state to herald the needed community and rural developments for the overall wellbeing of the people.

The Chairman, House Committee on Rural and Community Development, Mr. Wale Adedoyin stated this at the inaugural meeting of the Committee held at the Assembly office complex in Osogbo.

Mr. Adedoyin noted that the committee has a mandate to contribute meaningfully to move the state forward and by so doing, it would set up maintenance gangs for all Osun Road Access Mobility Projects-O-RAMP.

He explained that the committee is to assist the executive arm of government in all areas particularly in-terms of oversight function for it to act as watchdogs and ensure of policies and programmes of government are well executed as formulated and are directed to targeted people to benefit.

The Chairman said the success of Governor Oyetola led Administration is also the success of the 7th Assembly under the Speaker, Mr. Timothy Owoeye.

Other members of the committee expressed optimism that its activities would bring the desired change and development in the overall wellbeing of the people.

The committee on Rural and Community Development was set up as part of the 22 standing committees recently inaugurated.
