Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps wants mobile traders popularly called ‘Alajapa’ to desist from sitting on their goods when being transported to markets to prevent casualties in the event of accidents.

The Corps Commander, Mr. Seni Ogunyemi, while speaking on an accident involving a truck carrying yams to Lagos which killed four traders, said the agency would no longer tolerate non-road worthy commercial vehicles that lack amenities for passengers’ convenience.

The TRACE commander said that the lone accident that killed the four mobile traders also injured four others around Pipeline Junction of Ogere on Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

Mr. Ogunyemi said the accident was due to excessive speed and poor visibility with fourteen persons including thirteen male and one female 

He said the deceased had been deposited at Mortuary in Ipara Remo while the injured were taken to Idera Hospital, Sagamu.

The commander advised motorists to maintain their vehicles and avoid speed
