Oyo State Government has called for collaboration in caring for the needs of maimed soldiers, widows, their children and other dependants of the fallen heroes 

Governor Seyi Makinde made the call during an address delivered at a fund raising and appeal week to launch the 2020 Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration held at the House of Chiefs, Secretariat, Ibadan.

 Governor Makinde, who spoke through by the Deputy Governor, Engineer Rauf Olaniyan, at the event, also urged the Nigerian Legion in the state to take advantage of various social welfare schemes from both federal and state governments to better the lives of their members.

Earlier, Chairman Nigerian legion, Oyo State Command, Deacon Michael Fajimi, stressed the need for government to take their welfare seriously, while stressing the need to support government in its effort to provide adequate security to the citizenry.

Highpoint of the event was the fund raising and launching of the emblem by dignitaries, political appointees, and head of security units among others, to commemorate the day.
