The Ekiti State Government says it will soon issue letters of employment to successful applicants in the ongoing recruitment.

Governor Kayode Fayemi announced this in a statement in Ado Ekiti while reacting to the rumour of planned disengagement of ten thousand workers.

Dr Fayemi, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Yinka Oyebode explained that ninety eight percent of the applicants that passed the competitive examinations had gone through oral interview sessions, preparatory to the issuance of their letters of employment.

He stated that about three thousand workers would be employed into the teaching and civil service, hence there was no plan to sack any worker.

The Governor described the media report on the plan to sack workers in Ekiti as false and misleading, urging workers and people of the state to disregard such fake information.

Some national dailies had over the weekend reported that Ekiti State Government had concluded plans to sack workers in College of Education, Ikere, school of Science and Health Technology, Ijero , State Water Corporation in Ado Ekiti,  Broadcasting Service of Ekiti State and local governments.

Authorities of the Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti had last year sacked over one thousand staff while the management of Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti recently disengaged more than two hundred staff of the hospital.
