Oyo State Government has joined the league of states to pay the new thirty thousand naira minimum wage.

This followed an assurance from the State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde that no worker in the state would earn below the agreed new wage for Nigerian workers.

He stated this during the 2020 annual Inter – Religious Service organised to usher in the New Year.

Governor Makinde, who noted that committee had been set up on the new wage, reiterated that the collective decisions by the committee would  be affordable and sustainable by the present administration.

Governor Makinde also pledged to continue to turn around things in different sectors to take the state to greater heights.

On the fire incidences in the state, Governor Makinde while noting that the process to acquire ten fire fighters equipment for the state had commenced, said the victims of the fire disaster would be compensated by the government to alleviate their sorrow.

Earlier the Head of Service, Alhaja Ololade Agboola admonished civil servants in the state to give room for innovation of ideas.

Alhaja Agboola said approval had been given for conduct of productivity and merit award to motivate the worker towards dedication and offer their best in their various fields.

Some of the workers in an interview with Radio Nigeria lauded Governor Makinde-led government on prompt payment of salaries with a promise to re -dedicate themselves to duties.
