Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo has restated the need to preserve and cherish thy Yoruba culture

The Vice-President stated that during a visit to the palace of Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi.

The visit coincides with the coronation ceremony of the Fuji music icon, King Wasiu Ayinde by the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi.

The Vice-President represented by Special Adviser on Political Matters, Senator Femi Ojudu, in company of the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola and his counterpart from Ministry of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed held a closed door meeting with Oba Lamidi Adeyemi.

Addressing journalist after the meeting, Professor Yemi Osinbajo said the coronation was a specific feat achieved in the Yoruba culture, noting that honoring the musician who were gospelers of culture was a welcomed development.

On his part, the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola maintained that the visit was a part of the 49th celebration of the Alaafin to the throne and to celebrate with the music icon who was being honored.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed said the visit was to continue to beam the light on the cultural heritage of the country.
