The Founder of Sotitobire Miracle Centre, Prophet Alfa Babatunde is to remain in the Olokuta Correctional Service facility in Akure, Ondo state pending the issuance of hearing notice of a case of kidnapping of a one year-old Boy, Gold Kolawole filed against him and five other members of his church.

Pastor Babatunde and five others were rearranged before an Ondo state Magistrate court sitting at Oke-Eda Akure on a six -count-charge of alleged felony, conspiracy and Kidnapping of Gold Kolawole inside the church on the 10th of November, last year.

The court headed by Mrs. Charity Adeyanju gave the order that Prophet Alfa should remain in the prison pending the time the state High court will issue the hearing notice on where his bail application could be taken.

Earlier, the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) from the state ministry of justice, Mrs. Grace Olowoporoku had briefed the court that the DSS had concluded its investigation over the case and sent its report to the DPP for legal advice since the  of this month.

The DPP therefore sought the adjournment of the case.

Counsels to the defendants, Messrs Sola Oke and Remi Olatubora did not object to the application but urged the state DPP to ensure speedy hearing of the case when it is transferred to the High court.

The trial Magistrate, Mrs. Adeyanju who prevented journalists from covering the court proceedings, adjourned the matter till the 5th of next month.

Our correspondent reports that the court premises was filled to capacity as many residents of Akure stormed Oke-Eda Akure to catch a glimpse of the embattled founder of Sotitobire Miracle Centre, Prophet Babatunde Alfa who was first remanded on the 23rd of December 2019.
