Examining State of Morgues in Public Health Institutions
The situation of morgues in some health facilities can better be imagined than seen.
No wonder that majority of Nigerians believe in taking corpses of their loved ones to private mortuaries for proper attention.
This may be connected with fact that most morgues in government hospitals are in deteriorating condition, which if care is not taken may lead to public health challenges for workers in the hospitals, patients and people leaving within the environment in which such hospitals are located.
Radio Nigeria correspondent Sayo Olaniyan, who encountered some relatives of a deceased at the UNIMED Teaching Hospital Akure completes the story.
