A total of one hundred and four contingent have departed Akure the Ondo State capital to participate in the zonal elimination ahead of this year’s National Sports Festival schedule to hold in Benin Edo State.
Our sports reporter, Isaac Afolabi, who was at the stadium to witness the departure of the athletes, reports that the contingent comprises 86 athletes and 18 official and will participate in five games.
Head of coaching, Mr Sunday Fagite while confirming the figure, said the athletes were ready to pick slots and qualify for the 2020 National Sports Festival in Benin
The athletes will compete in Basketball, Handball, Volleyball and Football.
The games will be played between 21st and 25th of January 2020 in Lagos.
