Following the crisis that ensued yesterday across the local governments in Oyo State, our correspondent who visited some council headquarters today reports that there was a heavy presence of security operatives.

Places visited included Ibadan Northwest, Southwest, Northeast, Oluyole and Ibarapa East Local government.

The erstwhile local government chairmen could not gain entrance into the premises as they were under lock due to the strike by the National Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE.

At the Ibadan North West Local Government headquarters, Onireke, six of the chairmen gathered at the place having a discussion on the development.

In an interview, Chairman, Okebadan North Lcda, Mogaji Kolawole Samuel Ajadi, and Chairman Ibadan Northwest, Najim Bosun-Ajuwon, urged the local government employees to resume work immediately.

It would be recalled that the national union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, Oyo State chapter yesterday directed its members to stay off duty post until the controversy surrounding the political leadership of local government council in the state was resolved.
