Ogun State Government is to set up a Police Students Community Relations Committee to foster healthy relationship between students, the communities and the government.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Students Matters, Comrade Azeez Adeyemi made this known while addressing students of Ogun State Institute of Technology, Igbesa.

Comrade Adeyemi explained that the Committee will include representatives of the Ogun State Police Command, the Students Union Government (SUG) of Tertiary institutions and members of the communities where schools are domiciled and the government.

He stressed that the Committee would be charged with the responsibility of resolving crises between students, school communities and the government.

The Special Adviser to the Governor after the interactive session with the students met with community leaders, representatives of the State Police Command and the school management. 

He urged the leaders of the communities to see the students as their children and cultivate a good relationship with them and appealed to the police to be professional in dealing with the students.

The SUG President of OGITECH, Comrade Ogunleye Eniola in a remark called on the government to come to the aid of the school by equipping their medical centre.

The representative of Police, ASP Olawale Olusanya cautioned the students against misconduct and urged them to be security conscious at all times.

The Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Olufunke Akinkurolere commended the state government for the reforms in the education sector.
