The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed satisfaction with peaceful and hitch-free Congresses conducted in 203 wards in Ondo State, where ninety percent of ward officers emerged through consensus arrangements.

The chairman of the party’s 54-man Congress Committee for Ondo State, Sir Ude Oko-Chukwu disclosed this at the PDP State Secretariat in Akure while speaking with newsmen on the outcomes of the ward congress.

Sir Oko-Chukwu, who is also the Abia State Deputy Governor, pointed out that the spirit of give-and -ake imbibed by PDP members and leaders in the state showed clearly that the party would not have serious challenges in regaining the Ondo State in future elections.

The Abia Deputy Governor noted that the party would adopt internal dispute resolution mechanism to resolve less than ten percent of the wards where consensus could not be applied.

In a remark, the outgoing Ondo State Chairman of the PDP, Mr Clement Faboyede commended the Congress Committee from the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja and party faithful for following the rules and regulations which gave birth to a peaceful and successful ward congress in the state on Saturday.

Mr Faboyede announced that the party had set up a Screening and Advisory Committee headed by Senator Bode Olajumoke to work out how to reduce its 17 governorship aspirants to manageable number ahead of the October 10, 2020 governorship election in the state.
