Two thousand and seventy-six Corps members of the 2020 “Batch A”, stream one posted to Oyo State for their one-year mandatory service have been sworn-in at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Iseyin.

The Swearing-in which was performed by the representative of Chief Judge of Oyo State, Justice Aderonke Aderemi, saw the Corps members taking the oath of allegiance.

In a welcome address, the State Coordinator, National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Mrs Grace Ogbuogebe, said the 2,076 Corps members comprised 1,020 males and 1,056 females.

Mrs Ogbuogebe said numerous vocational and leadership skills have been put in place to equip the Corps members to stand on their own in future.

The representative of the State Commissioner for Youth and Sport, Pastor Oladele Oyadeyi implored the Corps members to embrace the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Programme, SAED of the NYSC.

Governor Makinde represented by the State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Mr Seun Fakorede, said the Corps members would be fully engaged to develop the state, and the government would continue to provide a conducive environment for NYSC to operate in the state.

The Swearing-in programme also featured the provision of infrared thermometers, wash hand basins and sanitizers as measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
