The Nigerian Army has embarked on sensitization on recruitment for its Special Forces Unit nationwide.

The Director Army Recruitments, Resettlement and Reserves, Brigadier-General Akpan Emmanuel made this known in Ibadan while addressing newsmen at Agodi, Governor’s Office, Ibadan.

Brigadier General Emmanuel said Nigerian Army would spare no effort in sensitising Oyo State youths on the recruitment drive for its Special Forces Unit.

According to him, the sensitisation exercise which would hold across the thirty- six states of the federation was sequel to the directive of the Army Chief, Lt. General Tukur Buratai.

 Speaking on qualifications and age bracket, Brigadier General Emmanuel said that 4 Credit Passes in  ‘O’ Level  including Mathematics and English Language was a prerequisite for the new recruits between the ages of 18-22 years with a good record of medical fitness

In a remark, Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, who spoke through Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Mr Seun Fakorede urged the Nigerian Army to provide a level playing field for applicants to enable youths in the state enlist into the Special Forces Unit.

Governor Makinde promised to offer necessary support to the army to enhance a hitch-free exercise.
