In an effort to join in the fight against the spread of Corona virus, the Environmental Health Officers in Oyo state have sensitized men and officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Oyo state command on precautionary measures against Covid 19.

Participants at the training, who observed social distancing, were put through tasks of curbing the spread, demonstration of hand washing techniques as well as process of making nose guides with serviette paper and rubber band which can produce more than fifty pieces.

In a lecture, Registrar, West Africa Postgraduate College, Environmental Health, Professor Sunday Ojewale, who said the virus can spread directly or indirectly and that everybody is a suspect in such situation, advised strict self protection, social distancing, correct use of face masks, and intake of warm water consistently.

While speaking on the increasing number of people taking dry gins or ethanol to kill the virus, Professor Ojewale said such act will damage the liver which can make anyone more prone to contracting corona virus.

Professor Ojewale advised people to gargle the mouth with warm water after each day’s work and suggest the use of aloe vera where hand sanitizers are not available.

Oyo State President, Environmental Health Officers, Mr Tijani Adegoke said the choice of officers of the FRSC Oyo state command was because of their daily engagements with members of the public.
