Late Chief Richard Akinjide has been described as a political and legal icon who had played pivotal roles in the history of the country. 

Deputy Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Mr Abiodun Fadeyi made this known while speaking with Radio Nigeria during a condolence visit to the family of the former Minister of Justice at his Idi Ishin residence.

Mr Fadeyi said Chief Akinjide would continue to be reckoned with in the political history of the country.

Speaking on the recent agreement between the Oyo State House of Assembly and the Executive for a thirty percent slash on allocation for the state parliament, the deputy speaker said it was in the best interest of the state.

Mr Fadeyi explained that the Executive arm of government in the state also agreed on a slash its allocation which is geared at delivering democratic dividend to the people.
