A special valedictory legislative sitting in honour of late Oyo State Commissioner for Environment and one-time Speaker of the State House of Assembly in the 4th Assembly, Rt Hon. Kehinde Ayoola has been held at the Parliamentary Building Secretariat. 

The special plenary, which observed social distancing, use of nose mask and all the precautionary measures against the spread of Covid-19 pandemic, had in attendance immediate past Speaker of the state assembly, Mr Gunju Ojo, Chief Judge of the State, Justice Muktar Abimbola, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief Bisi Ilaka, some executive cabinet members, family and friends of the deceased. 

In a tribute, Speaker of the House, Mr Adebo Ogundoyin who x-rayed his experience when he lost his father many years ago, appealed to the children of the deceased to trust in God and believe in themselves despite the demise of their father.

The Speaker affirmed the commitment of the 9th Assembly to assisting the children in their future endeavours, urging them to be committed to becoming great. 

Also reacting, Minority Leader, Mr Asimiyu Alarape, who is a colleague of the deceased in the Fourth Assembl, described Rt Hon Kehinde Ayoola as a man of many part, saying what led to his impeachment as Speaker was only a circumstances of political interest. 

Rt Hon Kehinde Ayoola JP, was the first Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly in the 4th Assembly in 1999 under former Governor Lam Adesina, and until his death was the Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources.

Rt Hon Ayoola, who survived by wife, Professor Olukemi Titilola and two boys, died on the 14th of this month during a brief illness. 

In a vote of thanks, first son of Hon Ayoola, Folarin appreciated the state government for the support during their trying times and urged them to continue to fight the course of a common man which he said their father stood for.
