There has been a spike in the cases of Coronavirus in Ondo State as the state recorded thirty Positive cases within a week.

Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu made this known at a news conference on Coronavirus updates at the government house in Akure

He explained that 11 of the new cases were in Okitipupa Local Government Area, while 7 were health workers who contracted the virus in a private hospital.

According to the governor, it is a frightening and embarrassing situation indicating full community transmission of the deadly virus.

He revealed that the state now had a total of 73 confirmed positive cases, 33 treated and discharged, 31 active cases and nine deaths.

Governor Akeredolu however maintained that the state would not relent on arresting the situation and enforcing the covid-19 protocols disclosing that some arrests of violators of certain rules had been made with vehicles impounded.
