President  Muhammadu Buhari has warned security agencies that he will no longer accept further escalation of insecurity in the country.

The National Security Adviser, retired Major General Babagana Monguno, disclosed this after he led the Inspector General of Police, the Director of Defence Intelligence, and the Director General of the Department of State Security Service to a meeting with the President.

President Buhari warned the heads of the security agencies that the insecurity would not be tolerated.

President Buhari agreed that security agencies are trying their best but insisted that their best is not good enough..

The attacks by bandits in Katsina and other states in the North have left many people dead and many others injured.

This sparked criticism over the worsening insecurity in the country, especially the North West where the armed men have wreaked havoc in recent times.

Retired Major General Babagana Monguno had embarked on a fact-finding mission to Katsina and Sokoto States.

The meeting was attended by Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha; Minister of Defence and Retired Major General Bashir Magashi.
