Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, has called on female folks to involve in physical training as a preventive measures against rape.
NSCDC Public Relations Officer in Oyo state, Mr Olusegun Oluwole stated this while giving out tips on how to prevent rape.
Mr Oluwole said being physically tough through learning karate might help to scare rapists away.
He noted that women should also be security conscious of their environment and the people they deal with.
Contributing, Police Public Relations Officer in Oyo state, Mr Olugbenga Fadeyi said female should avoid following strangers to an isolated environment as well as accepting a lift from unknown people.
The Police spokesman person, therefore, called on people to always report any unusual character in their communities for a quick response.
On its part, a Psychologist, Dr Muyiwa Adeyemo said parents and guardians should enlighten their girl child on sex education and never leave the children unattended to.
Dr Adeyemo added that the judiciary should come up with stiffer penalty that would scare rapists against the evil act.
