Osun State Commissioner of Police, Mr Undie Adie wants critical stakeholders in the state to join hands with government in the fight against the coronavirus.

Mr Adie stated this in Osogbo while playing host to leaders of National Union of Road Transport Workers and the road transport employers association and other trade union leaders.

Mr Adie reminded the union leaderships to be more committed to the implementation of Federal Government’s protocol on COVID-19 for the sake of health of the people.

He urged them to go back and ensure that people adhere strictly with the new conditions in place which bother on numbers of passengers they can convey and also maintenance of personal hygiene.

The commissioner noted that the recent increase in the number of coronavirus in the state deserved collective action to stem the tide of the virus in the state.

Mr Adie emphasized the need for residents to adhere strictly to the government’s directive, especially the use of face masks in the public places.

The leadership of transport unions at the meeting told the commissioner of police that the unions have been very supportive and cooperative with government in fighting COVID-19.

They promised to continue complying with all laid down protocols and ensure that they are followed strictly from zonal, chapter to unit levels.
