Ahead of Eidul Kabir celebrations, Police Public Relations Officer in Oyo state, Mr Olugbenga Fadeyi said the command had directed all the Divisional police officers, to ensure twenty four hours security operations across the state for a crime free festival.

He said the operation stop and search patrols, purposeful vehicular patrols and robust intelligence network had been on ground to ensure security of lives and property before, during and after the festive period.

Mr Fadeyi therefore warned all criminally minded individuals or groups who are bent on causing mayhem to stay clear from the state or face the wrath of the law.

Similarly, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, Oyo state Command had deployed over two thousand personnel to strategic places to avert any unlawful acts during the festive period.

Public Relations Officer of NSCDC in Oyo state, Mr Olusegun Oluwole said the Commandant had directed, Divisional Officers and personnel of the Corps to beef up security in their vicinity before, during and after the celebration. 

Mr Oluwole, who said that the Disaster Management Unit of the Command had placed ambulance and disaster personnel on highways for rescue during the celebration, noted that the Agro Rangers Squad and the Counter Terrorist Units had also been deployed to all the nooks and crannies of the state to prevent crime and criminality during the Salah Festival.

Mr Oluwole enjoined Muslim faithful to celebrate moderately and take responsibility against the spread of Covid-19 through the use of face mask, personal hygiene and observant of physical and social distancing.

On its part, Federal Road safety corps, FRSC, Oyo State Sector Command said it had deployed about two thousand officers to some traffic prone areas in Ibadan metropolis to achieve a traffic and crash road free Salah celebration.

The Corps Public Education officer, Mr Inyama Chijioke stated this while briefing journalists on the Corp’s efforts towards the Salah.

Mr Chijioke said the deployed officers would ensure free flow of traffic for Muslim faithful to enjoy a hitch free Salah celebrations.

The FRSC spokesman called on motorists, especially commercial drivers to comply with all road safety regulations to prevent crashes during the festive period.
