Four suspected armed robbers have been burnt beyond recognition by angry Mob in Okeho town, Kajola Gocal Government area of Oyo state while a policeman and a boy lost their lives.

Radio Nigeria correspondent gathered that the robbers numbering about seven stormed the town and engaged policemen at their station, and thereby succeeded in demobilizing them before heading to a first generation bank in the town.

On hearing about the robbers arrival in the town, the local hunters mobilised themselves, blocked all exists to the town and engaged them in a gun duel which led to the killing of four of them while three of the robbers who attempted to escape through a route were nabbed by local hunters counterpart in Ilero, a neighbouring town to Okeho.

A mobile police officer alleged to have been killed during the incident was attached to the first generation bank attacked by the robbers while the small boy who was hit by stray bullets when he came out to witness the incident, later died at a private hospital.

It was learnt that the robbers sprayed some naira notes starched from the bank to the residents to deceive them in order to escape from being caught.

A witness told Radio Nigeria that they used dynamite against the local hunters after expending their bullets.

Some of the residents of the community who spoke with Radio Nigeria commended bravery of the hunters for their efforts and urged the government to encourage and equip them in order to fortify the two from further attack.
