Officials the Ogun State Waste Management Authority, OGWAMA and other private waste collectors in the state have been empowered to ensure optimal performance during this festive period. 

Special Adviser to the Governor on Environment and Chief Executive Officer of the Agency, Mr Ola Oresanya made this known in his goodwill message to the people as Muslims celebrate this year’s Eid-el Kabir.

Mr Oresanya, who solicited the residents’ support and compliance with the state’s waste management regulations, advised them to properly store their wastes in covered containers to ensure prompt evacuation. 

He advised the people to improve on their habit of cleanliness and take advantage of the government’s waste management economic programmes on recycling and waste reduction to boost the opportunities for employment generation, especially among the women and youths. 

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Environment also encouraged community development associations to use the opportunity of the celebration and the public holiday to establish necessary interactions with the private waste collectors assigned to their areas.

He reiterated the state government’s resolve to promote the safe and clean environment while also enforcing the state environmental laws to checkmate infractions.
