The remains of the former representative of Ogun East Senatorial District, Senator Buruji Kashamu has been buried at his country home in Ijebu Igbo.

Thousands of sympathisers were at the residence of the late politician to pay their last respect.

Radio Nigeria correspondent, Wale Oluokun reports that special prayer session were conducted by league of Imams and Alfas at the deceased residence.

Dignitaries have also being paying condolence visits to the Oke Agbo in Oke Sopin residence of the late politician, who died from COVID-19 complications.

Also speaking, former representative of Ogun East Senatorial District, Senator Gbenga Kaka said tradition forbade him from speaking on the late senator, who is his younger brother, and whom he succeeded in the Senate.

Senator Kaka, however, prayed for the immediate family and the political associate he left behind.

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun described Late Senator Buruji kashamu as a cheerful giver and courageous person who stood for the wellbeing of the citizenry during his lifetime.

The Ogun helmsman, during an interview, said the death of the late business man would change the political narrative in Ogun state.

Governor Abiodun, who paid a condolence visit to the family of the late politician, explained that Senator Kashamu’s death was painful as the state had lost another illustrious son, adding that he would be remembered for his good deeds as well as his contributions to the growth of democracy in the state and the Country in general.

While describing the deceased as an astute politician and a successful entrepreneur, the governor said his role as a member of the 8th National assembly was unquantifiable.

In a remark, the eldest son of the deceased Mr Rasheed kashamu thanked Governor Abiodun for the visit which he said would serve as a relief to the family.
