Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has flagged off the remodelling of the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan.

At the flagging off of the remodeling project at the main bowl of the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan, Governor Makinde explained that the project would cost #5.5 billion through the Alternate Project Funding Approach (APFA).

The governor promised to redouble efforts in putting infrastructure in the right directive to increase internally generated revenue, and cushion possible economic effect of post COVID-19 

While noting that the project would be completed within 12 months, the governor also assured that the infrastructure revolution he had begun, would attract investors without putting extra burden of taxation on the people. 

Earlier, the Commissioner for Youths and Sport, Mr Seun Fakorede said the remodelling was for the growth and survival of sport and to engage youths productively in the state 

A representative of the contractor in charge of the project, Mr Olanrewaju Adeleke applauded the governor’s financial ingenuity in exploring the alternative project funding approach instead of complaining over paucity of fund.

The project would be completed in 18 months.
