A Christian leader, Apostle Lawrence Achudume has renewed the call for strict regulation to information being disseminated on social media to avoid crisis and confusion.
Apostle Achudume who is the General Overseer of the Victory Life Bible Church made the call during an interaction with journalists in Abeokuta.
The religious leader described most information on the internet as baseless, misleading and untrue, hence the need for a check on information being shared.
Apostle Achudume who described journalism as one of best profession on earth also acknowledged their roles in building a virile society especially in prompting good governance through their objective reportage.
He reminded the journalists on the need to continue to play their crucial watching role and avoid being used by politicians.
Apostle Achudume said the fight against corruption required the concerted efforts of all Nigerians especially religious leaders.
The Caretaker Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Mrs Omolola Adeyinka thanked Apostle Achudume for his support and assistance to the Union.
