The Osun state sector command of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC,
says about two thousand vehicles are turned back from the state
against the spread of COVID-19.

The State Sector Commander, Mr Ebenezer Asaniyan who said this on Gold
Fm, Ilesa, explained that none of the drivers and the passengers in
the affected vehicles had a nose mask or any personal protective
equipment on them.

Noting that the sanction was also among the mandate of the FRSC at
ensuring safety on the roads, the sector commander announced that the
policy would continue in the “ember” months to further contain the
pandemic.

Mr Asaniyan advised Osun state government to up-grade the
beneficiaries of “O yes” scheme to operatives of a state Road
Management Agency like those operating in Lagos, Ogun, Bayelsa and
other states.

He also pleaded with commercial drivers and other road users to obey
traffic rules, maintain their vehicles, avoid overloading and
excessive speed during “ember” months to reduce carnage on the roads.
