Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Oyo State Command says it has deployed rescue teams to all highways in the state to mitigate against road accidents in the EMBER MONTHS.

NSCDC Commandant in Oyo state, Mr Iskilu Akinsanya stated this during a lecture organized for officers in disaster management units and intelligence department of the corps in preparedness for ember months.

He noted that motorists, especially the commercial drivers should endeavour to follow all the road safety regulations to avoid road crashes.

Meanwhile, the Disaster Management Unit of the corps had also sensitize the general public in preparedness and approach needed as the Heavy Rainy Season draws nearer.

The Commandant said this became imperative as The Nigeria Metrological Agency, NIMET, had ealier forecast a climate change which might result to flooding in the state.

While addressing the residents in Ibadan Metropolis,the Head of disaster management unit of the corps, Mr SHEHU UMARU said that all hands were on deck to put flood incident under control.

Mr Umaru enjoined the people of the State to cooperate by taking all precautions laid down by government such as indiscriminate dumping of refuse on the water ways and cleaning of drainages.
