For the nation to witness the desired peace and peaceful coexistence, there is a need for attitudinal change among citizens.

Founder, Shafaudeen in Islam Worldwide, Professor Sabit Olagoke stated this at an event organized by a coalition of civil society organizations on peace, to mark this year’s International Peace Day, celebrated every 21st September.

Professor Olagoke, who identified insincerity and under-development as major causes of breech of peace, appealed to all the tiers of government to live up to expectations to restore peoples’ confidence.

Professor Olagoke, while expressing displeasure that moral discipline and spirituality are lacking in the up-bring of children, also called on educational institutions, religious and traditional leaders to instill the spirit of love in their followers.

Earlier, national president of the coalition, Professor Adegbolagun George, advised Nigerians to shun nepotism, discrimination and self-centeredness to ensure peace is achieved.
