Nigeria Police, Ogun State Command has arrested two suspected fake soldiers in Shagamu area of Ogun State.

The two twenty-seven-year-old suspects, Joseph Uzor and Obadeyi Quadri were arrested following a distress call received by the DPO Sakura Division, CSP Dahunsi Ronald that four people clad in Nigerian Army camouflage uniform had beaten up an elderly woman and disrupted commercial activities at Sabo market Shagamu.

On the strength of the information, the DPO Sakura Division quickly led his patrol team to the scene where two of the suspects were arrested with the help of members of the public, including an Army official who demanded for the suspects’ identity cards which they could not produce.

Items recovered from the suspects included two pairs of Army camouflage uniform, two pairs of black boots, one camouflage vest, one camouflage face cap, one Samsung phone and sum of ten thousand eight hundred naira.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Edward Ajogun, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for discreet investigation. 

He equally directed an in-depth investigation into their past activities before arranging them before a court of competent jurisdiction.
