The newly posted Assistant Controller General of Corrections, Zonal Coordinator in charge of Zone ‘F’ Command, Mr Joseph Usendiah has encouraged inmates to be hopeful as there is life after imprisonment. 

According to a statement by the Osun Command of the Centre, Mr Olusola Adeotan, the Zonal Coordinator gave the charge during a familiarization tour of correctional formations in the command. 

Mr Usendiah pointed out that a lot opportunities awaited them in the larger society, if they embraced the correctional processes wholeheartedly. 

He admonished the inmates to obey the rules and regulations governing the operations of Custodial Centers.

In addition, the Zonal Coordinator enjoined the officers and inmates not to relax in the observance of the established protocols of preventing Coronavirus (Covid-19) such as wearing of facemasks, social distancing, washing of hands and use of hand sanitizer.

Mr Usendiah charged officers of Osun State Command to be loyal to higher authorities in the discharge of their duties.

He urged the officers to be diligent and dedicated to their duties, noting that their services were critical in the administration of Criminal Justice in the country.

In his response, the Controller of Corrections, Osun State Command, CC Segun Oluwasemire appreciated the Coordinator for the tour of the command and for sharing in his wealth of experiences with officers and men of the command.

The familiarization tour took the Zonal Coordinator to State Headquarters Office, Osogbo, Ilesa and Ile-Ife Custodial Centres, Correctional Furniture Cottage Industry, Ilesa and the Dog Unit.
