Hakeem Kae-Kazim is a British-Nigerian actor best known for his work in the Starz television series Black Sails and his portrayal of Georges Rutaganda in the 2004 drama film Hotel Rwanda.

Kae-Kazim was born on 1st of October 1962 in Lagos, Nigeria, where he spent his early years before his family re-located to London, England.

He trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, graduating in 1987 and was offered a space with The Royal Shakespeare Company, where he continued his classical training.

From blockbusters to the prime time small screen, Hakeem Kae-Kazim has made his impact in the world of entertainment and has worked alongside many industry greats.

He gained international notoriety for his wonderful portrayal of George Rutugunda in the Oscar-nominated film Hotel Rwanda, which led to leading roles in the various international blockbusters.

Hakeem’s list of exciting credits includes Pirates of the Caribbean III, Lost, Cane with Jimmy Smits, Law & Order: SVU with Mariska Hargitay, The Triangle with Sam Neill, The Librarian with Gabrielle Anwar, X-Men Origins: Wolverine with Hugh Jackman, The 4th Kind alongside Milla Jovovich and Darfur with Billy Zane.

He also starred in Nollywood blockbuster,“Last Flight to Abuja” a 2012 Nigerian disaster thriller film written by Tunde Babalola, directed and produced by Obi Emelonye, alongside starring Omotola Jalade Ekeinde and Jim Iyke which received 5 nominations at the 2013 Africa Movie Academy Awards, winning the category “Best film by an African based abroad”.

Hakeem is often recognized for his recurring role as “Colonel Dubaku“, through which he wowed audiences with his stunning performance in 24’s’ Season 7, and in the prequel movie Redemption.

His distinctive voice has also been shared in many popular video games including Halo, Call of Duty and The Bourne Conspiracy.

Hakeem recently played Robert Mugabe in MUGABE and Joseph Damba in the TV series Deep State II.

Kae-Kazim has spoken of voice over work as being “a lot of fun”, and something he enjoys doing.

He has been appointed global ambassador for Africa 2.0, a civil society organisation providing a platform for emerging and established African leaders to drive forward the transformation of Africa.

Speaking about his role as ambassador, Kae-Kazim said: “I am truly honoured to be associated with Africa 2.0 – a pioneering platform for a new generation of African leaders to inspire and create a solid infrastructure- to shape a brighter future for our continent”.
