Ogun State Command of the Nigeria Police has paraded seven suspects for withdrawal of one point five million naira from the account of a friend.

The State Police Commissioner, Edward Ajogun, who paraded the suspects at the Police command headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, said the suspects were tracked and arrested after the victim, one Gbemisola Ajimoh, reported to the Police that her bank account had been hacked by some internet fraudsters.

The police commissioner explained that in the course of investigation, it was discovered that the money siphoned off the account was used to purchase goods, including handsets.

Mr. Ajogun said the handsets were also sold to a receiver at the Computer Village, Ikeja Lagos.

According to him, it was the victim carelessly entrusting her ATM card in care of her friend and Church member, Esther Oshin that led to the crime.

He assured the citizens of the state that the new operational procedures announced by the inspector general of police would not affect the performance of the police in the state.
