Thick congestion of traffic along Moniya – UI axis made many commuters to be stranded as #EndSars protesters stormed Sango, Bodija and U.I in Ibadan.

The peaceful protest which started in the country about six days ago with the hashtag #EndSARS has continued to trend even after the Special Anti-robbery Squad of the Nigerian Police Force was disbanded.

The Oyo State Student Community, which comprised of Tertiary institution students leading the peaceful protest was joined by youths from various walks of life with various placards against police brutality & harsh economic realities, trekking from Bodija/UI axis to Roundabout.

The Sango Police station was deserted as the protesters took charge of the road.

The protest led to traffic congestion around Secretariat road while visitors also had hectic time to enter the seat of Power as the main gate of the Secretariat had been under lock and key.

Some of the protesters in an interview attributed the continuous protest to cases of assault, illegal arrest, extortion, brutality among others.

The protesters called on the Federal Government to take proactive measures to take in addressing the institutional decadence in the country.

One of the facilitators, who prefers anonymity, revealed that another round of protest would continue on Saturday 17th October to the Oyo State Government House.
