The Commissioner of Police, Ekiti State Command, Mr. Tunde Mobayo has condemned an attack on the Divisional Police Headquarters in Ikere-Ekiti and the Area Command in the town by suspected hoodlums.

In a statement, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr. Sunday Abutu alleged that the hoodlums in the name of protest on Saturday (yesterday) launched attack on the police facilities in Ikere, destroying properties worth millions of naira.

Mr. Abutu listed some of the items destroyed to include fences, gates, signposts, window glasses and four vehicles, among others.

According to the Police image maker, Mr. Mobayo urged those protesting not to engage in violence in a way that will affect the rights of other members of the society.

Mr. Abutu added that the Commissioner of Police also enjoined parents and guardians to warn their children and wards to desist from violent protest as well as what could truncate the peace of the society.
