Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Mr Nwachukwu Enwonwu has called on members of the public to be security-conscious in their environment whenever they see any civilian with sophisticated weapons.

Mr Enwonwu stated this at the Police Headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan while parading nine suspects who were allegedly involved in looting during the #EndSARS protest in Iseyin.

The commissioner said six police officers were murdered, while five Divisional Police Headquarters were also destroyed during the protest.

Mr Enwonwu stated further that some ammunitions and weapons of the command were also stolen from the armory.

The commissioner said the command would continue to put up efforts to arrest other hoodlums who were at large as well as protect the lives and property of law-abiding citizens.

He added that the suspects would soon be charged to court after proper investigations.

Speaking with journalists, some of the alleged looters denied their involvement in the nefarious acts.

Exhibits found in the custody of the suspects included four motorcycles, one generator and a wall clock belonging to one of the destroyed police stations.
