Mrs Bamidele Abiodun Named Lead Sanitation Ambassador
Ogun State government has enlisted the support of traditional rulers and opinion leaders in the enforcement of its “One House, One Toilet Principle” and the spreading of the “Clean Ogun State, Use The Toilet Campaign” towards checking open defecation, especially at the grassroots.
Wife of the State Governor, Mrs Bamidele Abiodun made the appeal at a sensitization workshop to promote the target of ensuring open defecation free status in the state by the year 2025.
At the event organised by the State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency, RUWATSAN, Mrs Abiodun called on government at all levels to tackle the global sanitation crisis and improve water supply in the rural areas.
Also, Ogun State Commissioner for Rural Development, Mr Oludotun Taiwo and the National Coordinator, Clean Nigeria Campaign, CNC, Mrs Ayaba Kogbara decried the lack of sanitation facilities by many households and urged state governments to rise to the challenge of checking open defecation.
Highlight of the event was the decoration of the wife of Ogun State Governor, Mrs Bamidele Abiodun as the lead sanitation Ambassador.
