The Ekiti State Petroleum Regulatory Task Force Agency has sealed ten petrol stations in Ado Ekiti for engaging in wholesome practises and failure to pay their taxes.

A member of the agency, Mr Akindele Ogungbuyi led the task force on a visit to the affected filling stations within the state capital.

He explained that the erring petrol stations were shut for allegedly engaging in sharp practices such as, under dispensing and adjustment of pump above the newly approved pump price of 170 naira per litre.

Mr Ogungbuyi stated that the agency had on several occasions warned the petrol stations against sharp practices but they failed to desist from such act.

He however cautioned the sealed filling stations against the reopening of their establishments without paying their fines.

The task force team leader said the agency would extend its monitoring to filling stations in other towns to check their illegal activities.
