Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission, OYSIEC, has restated its resolve not to give undue advantage to any party in the forthcoming local government elections in the state.

The chairman of the commission, Isiaka Olagunju stated this when the commission paid a courtesy visit to the State Secretariat of the PDP in Ibadan as part of the stakeholders’ engagement embarked upon by the commission.

The chairman reiterated that during the commission’s inauguration on the 3rd of September, 2020, Governor Makinde charged them to conduct transparent, free, fair and credible elections without giving special treatment to anyone.

The OYSIEC chairman asserted that the commission would not get a free pass on anything as it was poised only to count the votes cast

He charged all parties to stick to the rule of the game and shun any form of electoral malpractices during the elections.

The chairman of the party, Alhaji  Omokunmi Mustapha, urged the commission to stick to the mandate the state governor gave during the inauguration without recourse to anyone’s opinion.
