The Ogun State House of Assembly, OGHA, says the theft of its official symbol of authority, the Mace, will not hinder the process of formulating people-oriented laws aimed at moving the state forward.

Speaker of the House, Mr Olakunle Oluomo who gave the assurance while speaking with newsmen disclosed that the mace was carted away when suspected hoodlums burgled his office at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan in Abeokuta.

Mr Oluomo while emphasizing that the incident would not disrupt plenary sessions, said the coat of arms attached to the mace had been found but the handle was still missing.

Our House of Assembly correspondent reports that the Commissioner of Police, Mr Edward Ajogun who visited the assembly complex for on-the-spot assessment had promised that the perpetrators would be brought to book.
