Reactions have continued to trail the directive by the National University Commission, NUC that universities in Nigeria should resume on 18th of this month.

According to the Chairman, Academic Staff Union of Universities, Asuu, University of Ibadan Chapter, Professor Ayoola Akinwole, university vice chancellors in the country should put necessary preventive measures in place to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

In their separate reactions, President, Students Union, University of Ibadan, Mr Olusegun Akeju, and two students affected by the strike, miss Eniola Akinwunmi and Mr Opeyemi Adebisi said the development had rekindled their hope of completing their academic pursuit.

While pledging to adhere to the safety protocols on Covid-19, the students appealed to government to honour the agreement reached with ASUU to prevent a repeat of the prolong strike.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, had last month suspended its nine months industrial action.
