The newly posted Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Command, Mrs Ngozi Onadeko has assumed the office and promised a renewed commitment.

Mrs Onadeko stated this at the command headquarters at Eleyele, Ibadan during the handing and taking over ceremony.

While familiarizing herself with the office, Mrs Onadeko said that her targeted goal in the state was to ensure that lives and property are well protected.

The CP assured the good people of Oyo State of maximum protection to lives and property, while soliciting constant dissemination of credible information in enabling the police to serve them better.

CP Onadeko is the first female police boss to assume such position in the state.

She is an alumnus of Imo State University, Imo State where she bagged BSc. in Sociology and later proceeded to University of Lagos, where she bagged Master’s degree in Criminology.

She joined the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police in 1988.


Mrs Onadeko has served in various administrative and operational capacities.

The outgoing police commissioner, Joe Nwachukwu Enwonwu, would be going to the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, NIPSS, Kuru, Jos, Plateau State for a course.
