Ogun State Government has promised to involve the private sector for the upcoming forest regeneration and infrastructural development projects in Imeko and Aworo Forest Reserves. 

The Commissioner for Forestry, Mr. Tunji Akinosi, who announced this when he received a delegation of the Nigeria Society of Engineers, NSE, Abeokuta branch in his office, said a total of 108,000 hectares  of land had been approved for tree planting, games reserve, residential quarters and other physical facilities.

Mr. Akinosi noted that the Imeko and Aworo Forest reserves had been left for long and encroached by various human activities, pointing out that the present administration had put measures in place to develop and manage the reserve for adequate sustainability.

Earlier, The NSE Chairman, Mr. Kolawole Olonade, lauded the present administration in Ogun state for  giving notable attention to various areas of socio-economic development which he said was impacting positively on people’s lives across the state.
