President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo have received a shot of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine at the presidential villa, Abuja, on Saturday.

The vaccine was administered by the president’s personal physician, while the vice-president’s vaccine was also administered by his personal physician.


Governors will receive theirs on Wednesday.

3.92 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine was rolled out on Friday, with health workers from the National Hospital Abuja, receiving the first dose, in the country.

Executive director, National Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Faisal Shuaibu has said a study revealed that 50 per cent of Nigerians would take the vaccine, adding that priority would be given to frontline health workers, the elderly and the vulnerable.
