Ogun state police command has deployed iA anti kidnapping squad to the Forest in Ayetoro area to rescue the two kidnapped three hundred level female students of the Faculty of Agriculture, Ayetoro campus of the Olabisi Onabanjo University(OOU), Ogun State.
The command Spokesman, Mr. Abimbola Oyeyemi while speaking on the incident said all efforts are being made to ensure safe return of the abducted students.
The students identified as Adeyemo Precious and Oyefule Abiola were of Forestry and Wildlife Management and Agricultural Economics departments were reported to have been abducted during the weekend..
The Deputy Registrar, Corporate Affairs Unit of the university, Mr. Niyi Oduwole who confirmed the abduction, described the incident as unfortunate.
He stated that the university management was working on the situation and collaborating with relevant agencies to ensure victims safe return.
Meanwhile, the Ogun state police command has arrested a notorious kidnap kingpin that escaped from Oyo State after killing one of their victims.
According to a statement by the command spokesman, Mr. Abímbólá Oyeyemi, the suspect Usman Hassan had escaped to Ogun state after killing a farm owner at Solalu village on collecting the Ransome.
The police spokesman said the suspect accomplices had earlier been arrested in Oyo State and confessed to the crime.
