Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde has flagged off the construction of 65 meter fly-over bridge of General Gas, along IdiApe – Akobo road in Ibadan estimated at N1.058 billion.
Flaging-off the project at the IDC Primary School, Basorun, Ibadan, Governor Makinde said the flyover was significant to the socio-economic growth of the state.
The governor said the construction of the fly project through alternative funding approach when completed would curb the traffic that usually characterized vehicular movement on the road.
While reiterating his government commitment to continue to embark on projects that would enhance economic development of the state, Governor Makinde urged the people of IdiApe, Basorun and Akobo environs to monitor the progress of the construction work.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Public Works and Transport, Professsor Daud Sangodoyin commended the governor for his vision and commitment to the project.
