Victims of Bodija Market Fire Seek Assistance


About 45 traders affected by another fire disaster at Bodija plank market have called on government and well-meaning Nigerians to assist them in order to recover their losses incurred. 

Some of the affected traders including the Chairman of zone 7 where the fire occurred Alhaji Owoyemi Ogunrin said about 22 shops were affected by the inferno. 

Alhaji Ogunrin said over 200 million Naira worth of planks were destroyed with the fire disaster.

Speaking in the same vein the Babaloja plank market Chief Alhaji Sulaimon Inaolaji said the cause of the fire was not electrical as there was no power supply when the incident occurred.

Alhaji Inaolaji said the fire was put out thanks to the timely intervention of Oyo state fire service.

The Babaloja of Oyo state Chief Asiwaju Yekeen Abass said details of the fire disaster and the damage done would be communicate to the government. 

As at time of filing the report the affected traders were separating damages goods while others were discussing the fire incidence.
