Former Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has called on Muslims in the country to work together with non-Muslims in achieving stability and economic prosperity of the country.

Sanusi Lamido Sanusi said this today while leading the Jumat service at Shamusu Shood Central Mosque, Orita Aperin, Ibadan, Oyo state.

The former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria arrived Ibadan from Lagos state on a two-day visit. 

He said the country has been experiencing economic difficulties and insecurity, hence the need for people to put aside their religious and cultural differences and work towards achieving a peaceful nation.

Sanusi Lamido Sanusi stated that the teachings of Islam did not support violence or hatred to mankind.

The new leader of Tijaniya Muslims in Nigeria is expected to visit the Alaafin of Oyo, the Olubadan of Ibadan and the Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland during the two day familiarisation tour to the state.

The Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Alhaji Daud Akinola and leaders of Tijaniya Muslim sect from the Southwest are part of worshippers at the Jumat service led by the former Emir of Kano.
